ABOUT LOVE MY HORSE

My love for horses started in rural New Zealand, as a young girl struggling with heavy, leaky canvas rugs in the wet, cold NZ climate.

I then moved to the whitsundays QLD where my other passion for sailing took me to beautiful tropical Islands of the far North. Missing my land legs I settled in Proserpine QLD where I was was introduced to the wild equine sport of Polox. I was totally unprepared for the extrememly QLD conditions.  Playing Polocrosse with my horse "Smudge" I learnt the hard way, battling flies, midgies, QLD Itch and the tropical humid heat. All sound too familiar?? 

Next I moved south to chilly Braidwood NSW and I faced the new challenge of enduring long, cold winters. I was again totally unprepared for the contrasting Australian conditions and was frustrated by the poorly fitting rugs available. My North QLD bred horse "Smudge" was always uncomfortable, rubbed and cold.

Not ready to give up I set out to create him a range of rugs that I only dreamed about. Starting with the highest grade fabrics available I improved the chest fit, allowing more room for Smudge's bigger wither, thus also decreased the pressure on his shoulders. These improvements gave me the ability to now use one rug on multiple horses and still get that perfect fit saving me hundreds on rugs for each horse.

Using this new design Love My Horse rugs fit horses all shapes and sizes and I have built the largest size range of rugs in Australia from 3'3 to 7'9.

I have created rugs with a very secure and comfortable fit, huge size adjustment, bold bright colors and with the addittion of reflectors that glow in the dark making our horses safer at night.
