Mini and pony horse rug sizes are written in feet and inches, most commonly 4'0, 4'3, 4'6

Some customers may search for these sizes using different formats — all of which refer to the same rug length.

For clarity:

4'0 mini horse rug may also be searched as 4 0, 4ft or 48 inch
4'6 mini horse rug may also be searched as 4 6, 4 ft 6, 4.5 ft or 54 inch

Mini and pony rugs are not measured by horse height or from wither to tail — sizing is based on the rug length measured from the chest to the rear of the rug.
This is why correct size references are important for a secure, comfortable fit on smaller horses.
